a small part of the signature can be read. Printed text "PIEROMANZONIPIEROMANZONI..."
and limitation are hidden by the brown material, a small hole,

very narrow fissure in the metal.
Side: paper is nearly complete but there are stains.

Prints.
2 pages, foreword in italian by Vincenzo Agnetti. + 8 plates.
Silkscreen.
Loose, as issued, in an original printed folder.
Each plate is dated, numbered and signed by the artist.
50 x 35
cm or 50 x 35 cm.
Ed. Vanni Scheiwiller, Milan, Italy, 1962.
Edition
of 60 numbered copies.
This item is very rare, specially when complete of the 8 plates,
as they have been frequently sold separatley. What should not
have happened, as it is a one-piece work, composed of 8 plates
(what the title "8 plates for identification" means),
giving the 8 ways to identify someone/oneself. A conceptual approach
of the notion of identitity.

Verlag Petersen Press- Flensburg/Glücksburg,
Germany, 1963.
Edition of 60 copies.
1st mythical edition of this P. Manzoni' s artist book. It was
conceived by P. Manzoni, just before his death, in 1963, as a
letter sent by him to Jes Petersen (who in fact is the director
and publisher) states it, and made after his recommendations.
Only a few of the "60" copies have been made at this
date, probably for high cost reasons. Some copies of this first
edition were probably made, later, and wear the mention "2
issue". A second edition (100 copies) was published in 1969.
Our copy is one these few ones of the very first edition, with
no mention of issue, published and issued in 1963.
