P.I.I.T.L. (Perfect Is In The Louvre)

Artist book.
A cream paper sheet of paper folded in four, forming 8 pages, including the covers. Sewn. 21 x 14.5 cm. M. Nannuci, Exempla & Exit Editions et Zona Archives, Florence, Italy, 1990. Homage and support to the book realized by James Lee Byars: J.-H.M.B.P.F.F. (Jean-Hubert Martin Bought Perfect For France), Germain et Ribettes, Paris, France, 1989. This book was an homage by Byars to the format and design of the cover of the “Collection Blanche”, NRF, Éditions Gallimard James Lee Byars found “perfect”. For this homage, Byars used the same paper, the same design as the Collection Blanche which earned him a publication ban by Gallimard editions, threatening to sue him. Nannucci here, doing the same as Byars, pays homage to the Byars’ book, in the same time supporting it against the Ă©ditions Gallimard.
